Slide 1

For the 2023 Community Workshops DISH showed the children of PER11 Neighbourhood that the creativity within them can be an endless source of solutions, both for their personal development and for the collective progress of their communities. In this two-phase workshop, the children and youth of the PER11 Neighbourhood were initially invited to paint and assemble exact replicas (1:20 scale) of the halfpipe that will later be constructed in the neighbourhood by Wasteland. Once the halfpipe (1:1 scale) has been built, DISH will draw inspiration from the created replicas to conclude the workshop and their artistic intervention in PER11 Neighbourhood, painting the halfpipe with all the participants.

BIO

João Prim, also known as DISH, hailing from Linda-a-Velha, was born in 1991. His path to graffiti began early on, even during a childhood intertwined with television and theater. During his adolescence, he began to draw compulsively; it was then that he transferred the dreams he sketched on paper to the walls of the world. DISH transforms both himself and his surroundings through art. He designs dreams inspired by the basic senses of the human being, lyrics from songs, and his own world. In parallel, he is a Visual Arts teacher at the primary level at Externato S. Cristóvão.
