VMBA, Associação de Moradores Viver Melhor No Beato, is officially taking part in the Bairros project for the first time – though it has already joined previous editions through collaborations with its hilltop neighbour, Geração com Futuro.
For this debut, they selected chef Kid Abril, who brought an approach that treats cooking as a cultural gesture – one of identity and integration. Together with a group of senior participants, he developed recipes that served not only to promote healthy eating, but also to help combat social isolation among this population.
