The objective of this workshop is to bring the different elements of Hip Hop culture to the Vale de Alcântara neighbourhood, using dance as the gateway and involving local artists. The proposal consists of four days that include a neighbourhood visit and JAM sessions, where an initiation into Hip Hop dance styles will be provided, culminating in a presentation of the work developed in the neighbourhood. The workshop will also incorporate videodance, involving the recording of a video in various parts of the neighbourhood with the workshop participants.
BIO
Douglas Silva was born in Brazil and is a professional artist-dancer, dance teacher, choreographer, and singer based in Lisbon. He began his journey within Hip Hop culture at the age of 14 and is considered a pioneer of the KRUMP style in Portugal. He was also instrumental in the development of this style in Brazil, contributing to its development through significant initiatives including research, translations, and structuring the style.
